WHAT’S HEAVIER THAN METAL? DARK MATTER!
Gürschach (Pronounced (Ger-shock)) have been yelling “Buy our shirts!” to crowds in the bay area and beyond since 2012, and have brought their captivating music with them everywhere they go. Having come from a broad set of influences, the group blends Metal, Latin, Sludge, Progressive, Punk, and Jazz elements to create a new sound that they describe as a simple phrase: Dark Matter. Fans got their first taste of the sound on 2015’s Beautiful Nightmares EP, as well as the music videos that followed it, and ever since, the band has spread out and played shows consistently throughout California and beyond. They are well known in the bay area for their intricately driving guitars, funky inspired slap bass, latin groove drum patterns, and strong vocal delivery in a high energy, no holds barred live set that they’ve begun to take on the road to new, excited crowds.
The band’s lineup has been consistent since 2013, featuring guitarists X and Leyland Reid, bass player Scotty McRib (ex-Toy Called God, Suburban Paranoia), and drummer Daniel Justo-Sanchez. The vocal duties are shared by X and Scotty McRib, but their live sets are known to have crowds shouting along with them. The album was recorded with the four of them, but features guests from the bay area, including Jared Eandi (Apothesary), Adam Richardson (Soulless Demise), and Chelsea Murphy (Among The Torrent) to name a few.
This album will be a ten track, 73 minute experience that will break the boundaries of conventional metal, and showcase their new sound: Dark Matter. The band plans to release video content of some of the upcoming singles before the album’s release, and they intend to tour extensively on this release, so you may just see them at a venue near you.
