Featuring a combination of death and thrash metal, Edmonton-based Death Toll Rising are known to devastate their audiences with their high octane performances that has lead the band to share the stage over the years with high profile names such as Kataklysm, Cryptopsy, The Haunted, and Aborted (to name a few).

Now as they gear up for the release of their sophomore album 'Infection Legacy' on October 22nd, the follow up to their 2010 debut album 'Defecation Suffocation' and 2008 EP 'Spontaneous Decapitation'. The band is premiering their latest track 'Scorched Earth Policy' on Sick Drummer Magazine at the following link below.

    http://www.sickdrummermagazine.com/index.php/news/latest-news/2604-brian-newbury-and-death-toll-rising-exclusive-track-premier-scorched-earth-policy.html

Originally formed in 2003 in Stony Plain, AB, Canada, Death Toll Rising have been grinding the Western Canadian metal scene steadily, gaining huge momentum over the last 3 years. New addition Tylor Dory on guitars has introduced a technical and progressive element to the band they have not had in the past. Add in the intense and relentless drumming provided by Bryan Newbury (recently recruited by Canadian prog/death powerhouse INTO ETERNITY), as well as the well-rounded rhythm provided by Drew Copland on guitar and Mike Puff on bass, and you get a monster that is only now being unleashed upon the masses with vocalist Jesse Berube topping things off with a combination of brutal death growls and Tomas Lindberg-esqe high shrieks, which will be plenty noticeable on their upcoming album 'Legacy Infection'.

    Guitarist Drew Copland comments:

"This album has been a long time coming for us, but we firmly believe in taking your time and never releasing something that you feel is inferior in any way.  We are incredibly stoked on how this album turned out, and are confident that fans will find it just as crushing as we do!  It definitely represents the next level for us in terms of song writing and sound and cannot wait to get it into your ears!"

    About:

BornBroken was formed with one simple mission in mind: Help the masses find a voice, a face, an “X” that marks the spot through the sounds of beating skins, metal strings and broken chords.

After months of writing and hours spent in the studio, BornBroken managed to take every emotion they felt, put it to music, build off of past battle scars and create a record where listeners will feel they are part of the storyline.

On their debut album, The Healing Powers of HateBornBroken play out not only what life has given them but also what they want to give back: truth, integrity, perseverance, loyalty and faith in humanity’s struggle for equality.

Revolver Magazine – Album of The Week – June 10, 2013

Named discovery of the year 2012 – Musique d’une nation

Named discovery of the year 2012 – Québec-Métal

Voted 2nd best show of 2012 in Montreal -Québec-Métal

Voted 2nd best show of 2012 in Montreal – Ondes Choc

“Montreal’s BornBroken simply go for the throat and never let up. Their debut record The Healing Powers of Hate is a no holds barred punch to the face. Combining the aggression of Lamb of God with the riffs of Pantera makes for a modern day polished metal release. A concept record based around mankind’s ability to overcome adversity and rise up against it, the message is powerful and thought provoking.” – About.com – Heavy Metal - Drago’s Dungeon: June 2013 The Month’s Best Unsigned Heavy Metal Bands

“BornBroken may be the best metal band you probably haven’t heard of. Those who love hard, heavy, angry metal are in for a treat and may find a new favorite in BornBroken. Their latest album, The Healing Powers of Hate, is the perfect combination of heavy meets melodic and combines what you’d hear from Lamb of God, Hatebreed and Five Finger Death Punch into one powerful, melodic, fist-pounding metal experience. There’s not one dull moment here and any metal head should at least check this album out. Rating: 8.5/10″ – TheFrontRowReport

“These extreme metallers have done an amazing job of combining death and thrash without treading on melodic death too much…The quality of the recording is also up to standards, including some gravity blasts that’ll have you shouting, “fuck yeah!”…This is a debut metal album of epic proportions. If it’s not the Canadian metal album of the year, it’s certainly in the running for Canadian debut metal album.” – 4/5 – Yell Magazine

“‘The Healing Power of Hate’ is a well executed album, tight and well produced, at times with strong hardcore influence. I liked the strong profile that the drums took, the guitar breaks were exciting and all the way through the vocals were first rate. The time taken to create it is very evident in the final result.” 4.5/5 – MetalTalk

“This album is 44 minutes of pure adrenaline infused death-thrash metal at its finest. The Healing Powers Of Hate captures the voice of ‘the broken’ and grants an identity to the thousands of so called misfits that struggle to find a place in our society. Marching to the sounds of brutal bass, slamming percussion, high-speed guitar solos and violently powerful vocals, the broken shall rise.” – LouderThanHell – 5/5

“The Healing Power of Hate is a great example of why Canadian metal is regarded around the world as being of very high quality: Because, quite simply, it is”. – GoetiaMetal

“I was sucked in after the first couple of songs and if I had a label I would sign them in a heartbeat! I understand that this release was self-produced and if that is the case these boys are ten steps ahead of the game and will have labels banging through their doors in no time.” – XplosiveMetal

– MusikUniverse

“Musically, BornBroken are a more solid, and extremely heavy, lot. Simon Savard and Mike Decker’s surging, Dimebag Darrell-inspired grooves hit like haymakers throughout, aided by the sort of dry, ultra-punchy production Terry Date used to achieve such brutal majesty with Pantera, Unearth, Deftones and on White Zombie’s Astro Creep: 2000. The sound here is huge – especially for a self-released effort – clear and quite pummeling.” – Metal-Rules

“It’s not often when you find yourself deep inside of a storyline with an album especially a Metal album, and this is exactly where you find yourself being drowned in throughout The Healing Powers of Hate. Every lyric and every song has a purpose and sheds the tearing storyline that is BornBroken. Throughout every well timed riff through the endless pounding of the skins and through each scream and Growl BornBroken brings you down to their deep hell and shows you their vision through The Healing Powers Of Hate.” – KingstonMusicReviews

“BornBroken deserves broad attention. They’ve already made a very big impression in their native Montreal, both for their live performances as well as their music in general. I honestly don’t know that much about the Montreal metal scene, but I do know that it is getting bigger and more competitive. For these guys to emerge as a local favorite suggests something of their overall quality. Give this one a spin.” SeaofTranquility – 4/5

“BornBroken’s Healing Powers Of Hate is a powerful album that falls in line with the likes of Pantera, Lamb Of God, and Hatebreed with some thrash inspirations from the likes of Testament, and Slayer.” – Emurg.com

“I must say that BornBroken’s amalgamation of melodeath, metalcore and modern thrash works very well. It is well balanced and captures only the good aspects of these three genres, reminding us that, despite all the not-so-interesting bands that roam the three genres, melodeath, metalcore and modern thrash do have a lot to offer…Fans of Pro-Pain, Lamb of God, Killswitch Engage, Machine Head and a wide variety of modern metal bands should definitely check out this potent debut album.” – 4/5 – MetalMusicArchives

“What BornBroken have done here is create an album that ticks pretty much every box on the seriously heavy tick sheet, managing to put together an album which is heavy, melodic, dark, haunting, and yet uplifting at the same time. Representing the pain and angst that went into making it, this album will connect with your soul, and remind you of what heavy is.” – Loud-Stuff.com

“So watch for it. Listen to it. These Montreal Metal Thrash-core compadres are definitely onto something different, and not only with regard to the local scene, but for Metal in general. The BornBroken boys are biting off as much as they can chew by creating a heavy-duty concept album, fusing the powers of all their influences and generating a sound that fluctuates between latter day Sepultura and mid-career Lamb of God.” – BetweenTheHorns.ca

“…At the first look, the album looks like a collector’s item.”
“…The Healing Powers of Hate as a sound comparable to the big names of the industry…I have the strong impression that everything was thought of on this CD. It’s a very well done album from A to Z. The Healing Powers of Hate from BornBroken is nothing less then a must!!” – Musique D’Une Nation

“BornBroken is the future of Québec Metal, with 10 titles to discover, even on stage, since the group demonstrates an uncanny and totally uncommon, energetic stage presence. They have poured their guts into the making of this introductory album, their own monies and a wealth of professionalism, which must be recognized. Bravo for an excellent album that one just doesn’t tire of listening to.” – Québec-Métal

“…le disque est marqué au fer rouge d’une intensité menaçante qui n’épargnera aucun tympan.’’- Bande à part (Radio-Canada)

“Insurrection play a groovy type of death metal that’s equal parts Dying Fetus, Decapitated and Lamb of God.”  - Metal Sucks

Death metal needs fresh blood and let’s hope this album inspires some youngsters to steer away from the crap and come back to serious business.” – Metal Made in Canada

“This 5-piece monstrosity has struck again with precision, aggression and near perfection! INSURRECTION delivers a one of a kind album – solid and crushing from beginning to end.” – The Ottawa Epitaph

Fracture is mint, tight and completely in your face. With well thought out lyrics, great aggressive riffs and a constant energy that hooks you to its sound; it’s a must for any tech death fan. It’s their second effort, and a solid follow up to Prologue, their first album. The lyrics, in both English and French, circles around the themes of society, politics and mental illness. Their vocalist, Stephane Jomphe, does a great job at throwing them at us like bullets and he’s also an incredible live performer. If you get the chance to see them live, jump on it. A good way to get in touch with this piece of art is by listening to its highlights. You better start off with ”Set The World On Fire” a catchy yet brutal (don’t bash me for using this term) song about human rebellion against our capitalist system, well written with a sing along chorus and a heavy sound, in short, a perfect starter. Then there’s ”Dérangé” which can be translated to disturbed or insane. This is surely one of my favorite, a French track about narcotic problems and sanity. Personally I also enjoy ”Fracture”, their title track, and ”History Repeats Itself”…If you’re the metal enthusiast craving heavy and vicious crushing riffs, or the typical technical death metal fan looking for some new stuff to enjoy. Stop searching, you’ve found what you need and believe me you’ll enjoy this album..” – Metal Storm

“One of the things that attracted me to this band was their use of both local languages in their songs. I know it’s easier to write songs in english, and english bands seem to get more popular than french bands, but I feel like a lot of bands don’t even try. Half the songs on Prologue are in french, and half are in english, and it does nothing but improve the record. Hats off to these dudes for writing in their native tongue.” – Bloody Underated

  • METAL CHURCH - Generation Nothing (CD 2013)

Metal Church "Generation Nothing" marks the bands 10th full length studio release and boasts the return to the band's classic metal sound, says founding member Kurdt Vanderhoof, "It has elements of both the first album and the "The Dark", but still embraces the new sound of the band without chasing the past."

Born out of the West Coast Metal scene in the 80's, Metal Church quickly became one of the standout talents of their genre. The band's first release simply entitled "Metal Church" postured the band as one of the pioneers of the thrash/metal scene, while their sophomore release "The Dark” was championed as one of the premier metal releases of the 80's.

Now with the current band’s line up, Kurdt Vanderhoof (guitar), Ronny Munroe (vox), Jeff Plate (drums), Rick Van Zandt (guitar) and Steve Unger on bass, "Generation Nothing" combines the best elements of the band’s early roots with modern day lyrical content and a revived hunger that delivers an electric assault of anthemic & epic metal songs! Videos for "Generation Nothing" and "Dead City" are currently in the post production stage and a world tour is in the works for 2014. Official release date for "Generation Nothing" is scheduled for October 22, 2013.

  • AC ANGRY reveal cover artwork & tracklist of “Black Denim”!

AC ANGRY: Riding The Booze Horse

Pent-up anger channelled into a feisty Rock ‘n’ Roll attitude. This is what AC ANGRY stands for. Metal Hammer Germany described their sound as «comparable to early Wonderfools, coupled with desert riff grooves and a touch of late Turbonegro». Their roots lie clearly in the classic Rock ’n’ Metal of the 80‘s, in groups like Motörhead or Zodiac Mindwarp And The Love Reaction and they succeed in including their influences from the last 15 years in an exciting way, as bands like Danko Jones and Turbonegro took over. With this spellbinding mixture they set themselves apart from the rampant 70‘s Vintage Rock Revival and go their own way.

Under the old name Taletellers the four-piece already made a name for themselves in the world-wide metal scene with the albums ”Detonator“ and ”Radicalizer“. In 2009 they went on a European tour with Grave Digger and Alestorm and they supported such notables as Molly Hatchet, Sacred Reich, Uriah Heep or Astral Doors. Along with it the second album ”Radicalizer“ earned a Top 40 chart position in the US College Radio Charts. After a short break the band decided to change the name to something more suitable for their straight heavy Rock ‘n’ Roll – AC ANGRY – and since last year the musicians surrounding the charismatic singer Alan Costa have been hitting the gas again big time! Highly acclaimed shows as support for Danish rockers D-A-D and Ozzy‘s former sidekick Zakk Wylde and his Black Label Society and most of all the tour with Warrior Soul in November 2012, which led them through Germany, Switzerland and the Netherlands, were celebrated by fans and press alike.

On October 25th 2013 AC ANGRY’s debut album “Black Denim“ – produced by Phil Hillen (Powerwolf, Parachutes, The Vision Bleak, Vendetta …) at SU2 Studio – will finally be released through the German label Dust On The Tracks Records. Iconic illustrator Jan Meininghaus (U.D.O., Bolt Thrower, Brainstorm …) is responsible for the perfectly fitting artwork. AC ANGRY are demonstrating with a total of ten songs how a dirty Rock ’n’ Roll album is supposed to sound! Catchy tunes like the pounding opener “Booze Horse“, the intriguing half-ballad “It‘s Good To Be Bad“ or the fat speed metal riffs-driven “Rock ’n’ Roller Roller Rolla!“ are evidence that singer and guitarist Alan Costa, his congenial lead guitarist Stefan Kuhn, as well as the tight rhythm section, consisting of bassist Dennis Kirsch and drummer Sascha Waack will truly stir up the international scene! The live shows have already started in late April when AC ANGRY were hitting the road for a mini-tour with guitar virtuoso Michael Schenker (MSG) before going on a three-week European tour in June as support act for the Hard ‘n‘ Heavy legend Saxon and several concerts with Canadian cult Metal band Anvil in August. In autumn AC ANGRY have been confirmed for some shows with Ohrenfeindt and further tour dates will soon follow.

What the press says about AC ANGRY:
Rock Hard (#314): Another few words on the supporting act: They’ve made a good catch with AC ANGRY. With their excellent mix of Power Rock, Heavy Metal and Aussie-Rock ’n’ Roll  the upcoming quartet arrives properly.
Medazzarock.ch (Juni 2013): The boys were the perfect opening act that understood how to get people involved and brought at operating temperature. Rock ‘n’ Roll mood in the best way.
Musikreviews.de (Januar 2013): Probably one of the five best bands in Germany, when it comes to adding sound to greasy leather jackets – you have to check this out!
