by Ignacio Orellana / 247 Views- ECLIPTYKA vocalist Helena Martins and guitarist Hélio Valisc recorded an acoustic cover version for ALTER BRIDGE's "Blackbird". The video of the cover can be watched below:<iframe width="500" height="375" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/OSL0YwTa1E8?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>About the song Hélio Valisc said: "The idea of doing it came from our mutual passion for Alter Bridge's music. Not just me and Helena but all Ecliptyka members have 'AB' as a great musical reference. Mark Tremonti and Myles Kennedy are reinventing the genre, what we can call as contemporary hard rock (laughs), and Blackbird is without a doubt their masterpiece. The video is a personal fulfillment and also a tribute!"ECLIPTYKA's debut album, "A Tale of Decadence", was released in 2011 in Brazil by Die Hard Records, and Japan by Radtone Music.

Comedy rockers Psychostick are at it again! Poking fans with another great music video titled 'Sadface', a social media song from their fifth and latest release 'Space Vampires VS Zombie Dinosaurs in 3-D'.
Psychostick guitarist Josh 'The J' Key comments:
"This song declares war on terrible, bitchy, whiney, pointless, attention-seeking posts. If you need someone to listen to your problems, go see a therapist (No... REALLY, stop reading this and go talk to a professional RIGHT NOW).
What I love about this video is the feel. We wanted to feel like you were being yelled at you through the internet to knock that shit off.Another great thing about this video is how many hidden gems are in it. If you pause the video and take time to read all the mock comments, you will be greatly rewarded."

Most high school friends can’t even stand to look at each other once school’s out, but in the case of vocalist Rob “Rawrb” Kersey and guitarist Josh “The J” Key, they decided to spend even more time together after graduation.
Harnessing their crazy sense of humor and love of all things metal, they joined forces with drummer Alex “Shmalex” Dontre and bassist Matty J “Moose” to create Pyschostick, a band they've coined as humorcore. With hilarious lyrics, heavy riffs, notorious stage antics and high-energy performances, the band has caused millions of laughs around the world and hundreds of mosh pits across the US, often simultaneously, since its birth in Phoenix, AZ in 2000.
Almost 100 percent do-it-yourself, Psychostick never strays from its signature sound, a combination of heavy music Chimaira, Machine Head and Hatebreed would be proud of and wit and humor that would make Tenacious D and Weird Al Yankovic holler with laughter.
With two full-length albums behind them – “We Couldn’t Think of a Title” and “Sandwich” - the band released their latest record, “Space Vampires VS Zombie Dinosaurs in 3D,” in 2011, following it up with a tour with Mushroomhead to add to their total count of 21 nationwide tours that have hit 47 states.

Edmonton, AB's All Else Fails are proud unleash their new EP 'Fucktropolis', out today, July 30th on Suicidal Bride Records. Their heaviest and most diverse composition, this highly anticipated five track EP, the band’s 4th release will solidly place All Else Fails amongst the best in their genre as they blend intense metal with a dark beauty.
The album can be purchased on Bandcamp, iTunes, Amazon and most online retailers.
"This album has been a crazy process, we recorded, mixed, mastered, printed the album and shot videos for the first two single in under 2 months. It's been a hell of a ride, but we are all really jacked up for the release. It's a heavy disc, and we are really proud of it." comments vocalist / guitarist Barrett Klesko.

All Else Fails is making a mark around the world for their aggressively dark brand of metal that is breaking the traditional ideals of their genre. Drawing comparisons to bands like As I Lay Dying, the band infuses their music with a variety of elements that includes experimental, Classical, synth lines, and spoken word sampling to accent a unique blend of heavy as hell screams and shiver inducing clean vocals.
A high energy live show that sets them apart from their peers has garnered them appearances on numerous high level festivals over the years, including Van’s Warped tour, Boonstock and opening spots for artists like Protest the Hero, Cancer Bats, Dayglo Abortions, 3 Inches of Blood, Fear Factory, Threat Signal, Decapitated, Suffocation, and Arise & Ruin.
The band’s last release received world wide praise from industry publications around the world. With the release of the band’s most recent music video “This Burden of Life” in the fall of 2012, and its addition to rotation on Canada’s Much Music, All Else Fails’ fan base expanded dramatically.

"“Fucktropolis”. What an awesome name for an EP. And what an awesome EP it is." - Metal Temple
"What a grenade! Getting into "Fucktropolis" points the way that ALL ELSE FAILS want to go with their EP: Gloomy tension, social criticism, brutality and sophisticated accents in their music...The Canadians have unleashed and bring an incredibly powerful hardness into their music." - Metal4.de
"What a great title for an EP!...Not only is the production crystal clear, but all 5 tracks are consistently heavy and brutal. I really dig the intro to the EP at the beginning of "Anti Martyr," the dialogue really sets the tone for the EP in it's entirety. Shane Tym lays down a relentless beating on those poor drums, what a heavy hitter!" - Counter Culture Nerd
"When you name your EP Fucktropolis, you are definitely going to make waves…When the band kicks off “AntiMartyr,” I am instantly feeling it." - American Aftermath
"I say this album is a solid 9/10 bringing a sound you don’t often hear from Alberta." - Broken Neck Radio
1. Anti Martyr
2. Better Left Dead
3. La Demencia Violenta
4. Obedience At The Altar of Sacrifice
5. A Most Unwanted Reprieve
“What is also apparent on this third release is not only the sheer creativity of the group, but also its stone cold knack for writing songs designed to permanently embed in the gray matter…There is just something about the band’s songwriting approach; it seems so darn natural and effortless. On “The Oracle” nothing ever sounds forced, formulaic, or identifiable as anyone but ALL ELSE FAILS. Don’t let this one slip past your radar. “ – Blabbermouth.net
“It would not surprise me in the slightest if you heard this group grace the airwaves from the obscure darkly lit, pubs of Gothenburg to the soundboards of our own local modern rock stations. It seems more than fortunate that these Alberta natives named their album The Oracle because these local talents have clearly seen the future.” – Edmonton Journal
“A Monster of a Metal Opus” – The Edmonton Journal
“All Else Fails have delivered us a brilliant new album” – Confront Magazine
“The epic twelve track album [The Oracle] explores their most extraordinary sound to date. Ranging in themes from the apocalypse (‘This World In Flames’, ‘Rebirth’) to drug abuse (‘Fallen’), to religious persecution (‘Monster Eats The Pilot’), to being haunted by the sins of one’s past (‘The House At The End of The World’)” – PureGrainAudio.com
“Obsidian Walls” is a colossal song” – Planet Mosh
“”The Oracle” is a highly addictive journey that captures the listener from start to finish.” – SpazioRock.it (Italy)
“The Oracle is one hell of a powerful album, packed with no end of metal elements, punk edginess and even jazz flourishes . One could make the standard obligatory comparisons to other metal records, but The Oracle defies all traditional categorization. The music is at once darkly visceral and starkly beautiful. In a world of countless “core” clones in the metal scene today, this opus stands out amongst the many. All Else Fails have realized their most compelling yet pulveringing album to date.” – Metalholic Magazine
“For St Albert-based band, All Else Fails, music is not just an end in and of itself, it’s a means to an end. The trio uses its music to ask questions about some of the bigger issues facing the world, without necessarily drawing concrete conclusions. Preferring to provoke debate than provide answers…” – Vue Weekly – Edmonton
“ALL ELSE FAILS is a brand of metal that represents brutality, melody, and freshness that is well captured on The Oracle, What Was, Is And Could Have Been.” WeLoveMetal.com
“…plenty of gems amongst them, including “Twilight Of Mankind,” “Monster Eats The Pilot”, the crushing “Rebirth” and the symphonic/metallic based stand out effort “Obsidian Walls”” – Blistering.com
“All Else Fails have crafted one of the most diverse sounding albums I’ve heard in a while. The Oracle, What Was Is and Could Have Been refuses to be pigeon-holed into a genre, and that’s why it’s great. Rather than sick to a straight formula, All Else Fails branch out into several genres and bring their sound into the fold to produce some incredibly creative songs.” – The Age Of Metal
“When it came down to the track list at hand, I can point a few starlets that mesmerized me. I recommend on “This World In Flames”, both electric and acoustic, bone crushing “Rebirth” and “Obsidian Walls”, “Fallen” was a great treat even though it was lyrically heavy, and I even found the last parody “Robots!!! KOLTG” as cool. In addition to the names of the hits, I urge to take a deep listen to the rest while trying to notice the strong connection between the musical diversities and the strong lyrical sense. ALL ELSE FAILS did more than a fine job on those creations.” – Metal-Temple.com
“The band, out of St. Albert, AB. plays music which brings together classical, progressive and metal elements, to create an orchestral approach to hard driving music” – Yorkton This Week
“An uncompromising metal album the way they don’t make them anymore” – The Sound Check
“These guys are wickedly awesome. Both shows last year, the guys tore it up. The CD always finds it’s way to the car on those long trips. If you weren’t at their last few shows, make a point to come out to this one. You won’t be disappointed.” – Baycore.net post by Jolt Entertainment
